Sunday, July 24, 2022: 1:00 pm (DAC 206): Hackers and programmers are an incredible pool of talent capable of facilitating meaningful change. Brandon has talked to many people who, in the pursuit of journalistic action, build things that either already exist or aren't actually useful. This talk will cover real-world and unsolved technical problems journalists face that, if solved, would benefit and enable many investigative projects. You'll become familiarized with the general process of data journalism and explore practical ways for people to get involved, using their technical skills at the local level.
